Each department has the option to alter the requirements for Honors in the Major, as long as the stated minimums remain in effect.
Below, you will find the things you need to know about how Honors in the Major works in the Accounting Department.
- The student must attain an overall GPA of 3.60 or above in order to be able to register for Honors Thesis credit. The GPA must be maintained throughout the Honors Thesis project.
- Students must have completed 75 hours of college credit at the time of admission.
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.60 to be considered for graduation with Honors.
- The course you register for Honors Thesis credit is ACG 4970, Honors Thesis in Accounting. The reference number can be obtained by calling the Accounting department.
- Honors in the Major students will complete six hours of Honors thesis credit to graduate with Honors.
- Work in progress is assigned an 'I' (Incomplete), until the finished paper is approved.
- Students are encouraged to make plans for Honors in the Major work in Accounting as early as possible. Students should meet with Professor Bud Fennema to discuss the program at their earliest convenience.
