Each department has the option to alter the requirements for Honors in the Major, as long as the stated minimums remain in effect.
Below, you will find the things you need to know about how Honors in the Major works in the Risk Management & Insurance Department.
- The honors program involves crafting an honors thesis under the guidance of a Thesis Director and other faculty members (one in RMI; one outside of RMI).
- The student must attain an overall GPA of 3.60 or above in order to be able to register for Honors Thesis credit. The GPA must be maintained throughout the Honors Thesis project.
- The course you register for is RMI4970, Honors Thesis.
- Honors in the Major students will complete six hours of honors thesis credit to graduate with Honors in Risk Management & Insurance.
- Students are encouraged to make plans for Honors in the Major work in Risk Management and Insurance as early as possible, but after admission to the College of Business. Students should meet with the department Chair to discuss the program at their earliest convenience.
