The enrollment application is the first official step in the Honors in the Major process. It is how you inform the Honors Office and your department of your intent to complete an Honors thesis, and it is both your confirmation that you meet the minimum requirements and your thesis director’s confirmation that he or she has agreed to oversee your research.

Once you turn in your application, the Honors office will authorize you to register for Honors thesis credit.

The Honors Office DOES NOT register students for honors thesis hours. Please contact your department for the reference number after you turn in your application.

APPLICATION IS DUE THE THIRD DAY OF CLASSES IN THE FIRST TERM YOU PLAN TO REGISTER FOR THESIS CREDIT.

Before you can apply to the program, there are a few steps you must take:

• Decide on a topic (at least something general, which can later be narrowed down)
• Find a Thesis Director
• Make an appointment to speak with the Honors in the Major coordinator by sending an email to hitm@fsu.edu.

Once you have been advised by the Honors in the Major coordinator, you will be given a password to access the application. The application is a "fillable" PDF; please type all information, print the application, obtain the required signatures and submit to the Honors in the Major office by the application deadline.
